Joe Mauer discusses the upcoming 2012 season, including his position as a catcher and the Twins’ disappointing 2011 season.
Happy New Year from FYJM
Hope everyone’s 2012 has been going well so far. January is half way done and we’re beginning to prepare for pitchers & catchers to report for spring training on February 18th.
With that, we will be (hopefully) experiencing more Joe news.
In off season news, congratulations to Joe on his engagement. We wish you and your fiancee the best (even if we’re a little late!)

Mauer to start working out at first base →
By Jordan Schelling / MLB.com
“Yeah, definitely, if he could play first base, he probably would be playing first base today,” Gardenhire said. “Or third base, or somewhere. That’s why I want to explore all the options we have to keep his bat in the lineup as much as we possibly can, especially when all these people are hurting.”

Joe Mauer's Milk Power Rankings →
1. 2% milk. Boy, what can you say about 2% milk that hasn’t been said already? Cold, white, thick but not too thick. Put it on Wheaties or just in a glass, and it is so refreshing. I went to this dance club with Torii Hunter once, and when I ordered it at the bar, Torii and the bartender just looked at me like I was crazy. I’ll tell you what’s crazy: not having 2% milk.

Mauer Sad to Miss Watching Posey →
I didn’t get a chance to share this with you guys since I was busy all week. Twins series came and went. So sad. Anyway, NKOTBSB concert next weekend!!
He was also kind of pumped to watch Posey play, but now that the Giants’ stud catcher is out for the season, he won’t get to.
And he’s a bit disappointed.
“I was kind of excited when I saw San Francisco on the schedule -...

Mom knows what Joe's looking for →
OK. So no Drama Queens (or Princesses) need sashay toward the on-deck circle. Check. <———————LOL!!
So, would-be Mrs. Joe Mauer applicants, please busy yourselves by studying, traveling and calmly expanding your intellects because marriage may not be foremost on Joe’s mind.

Fans can drive Mauer, Morneau to fifth ASG →
MINNEAPOLIS — Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau are certainly plenty familiar with the All-Star Game.
After all, both have represented the Twins and the American League in the Midsummer Classic four times, with Morneau riding a four-year streak, including last season, though he missed the event because of a season-ending concussion he sustained just a week before the game. Mauer has a three-year...
